Yoga is the practise of inwardness and silent meditation. It is the experience of perfect calmness of mind and self knowledge. We move our bodies using our breath which results in improved strength, mobility, flexibility & balance.
Yoga is a practise of action & reflection. We build our practise slowly with patience and care. Furthermore we can maintain and enhance what is already right with our body mind or self remedy what has gone wrong.
This gives us back greater control over our health & wellbeing. Our bodies have an innate wisdom & through this self care we create better habits both on and off the mat.
Yoga provides the opportunity to bring our mind back to our body in the present moment. Through cultivating time & space in this way we use our physical form as a vehicle towards mindfulness.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY

EMMA, LIVE STUDENT
I first came along to Maria's class to improve my strength and fitness but I have discovered that yoga is so much more! I absolutely love the classes, there is always something different, always something familiar, always something for everyone. It's great to challenge yourself but also to see progress and development as you practice. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who is looking for a friendly and safe place to discover what yoga is all about.
CHRIS, CLINIC PATIENT
Maria, you did more than teach yoga; you taught me patience. What I might have decided as 'sleepytime yoga' and poetry readings with movement actually set a cornerstone in my recovery. I learned that I do not always need to do "hardcore yoga", move broadly or do not need to be faster, stronger, better and too hard on myself to get through this scary thing called life. Someday your words " uh, uh, uh, 20% effort only please!" could save my life.
KAREN, ZOOM STUDENT
Practising yoga with Maria is always fun! - Even on the occasions when I am tired when I arrive on my mat! I was completely anti doing yoga on zoom at the start of lockdown. But after just one trial lesson, I was totally engaged with the approach and rapidly moved up to 5 sessions a week. Once you get started its just like maria is there in the room with you. She carefully monitors everyone to check they've understood her instructions and are working safely.
